Group Lessons Program

Our group strings program is designed specifically for different age groups to develop the skills to get a good sound and play real songs as quickly as possible.

This group strings program includes:

• Learning how to play the instrument first, with the most important skill right away: how to make it sound good! Learn violin, viola, cello, or double bass (except ages 5-7 class: violin or cello only). 
• Use of classroom violins during class. No need to have your own instrument right away! (For viola, cello, or double bass, you'll need to bring your own instrument, but you can switch from violin to these other instruments at any time.)
• Personal assistance with finding your first instrument when you’re ready.
• All practice materials included: everything is provided in class, including a practice plan if you don’t yet have an instrument at home.
• Separate Level 1 classes for different age groups, lasting 8 weeks to give you the best start!
• Classes are limited to 10 students so you still get personalized help.
• Learn more than just skills: learn multiple (5+) songs in the first 8 weeks of playing!
• The option to join year-round Level 2 classes so you can keep the music going!
• No hidden costs: the 8-week Level 1 class is $150, and the ongoing Level 2 classes are $75/month, with no extra materials charges, ever. 
• No pressure to take private lessons: the decision is always yours and this program is designed to keep you playing without having to take private lessons (unless you want to!).
• Classes are held at Portillo Violin Studio: 1927 West Avenue L in Lancaster (shopping center near 20th St. West and Avenue L)
